Operation of ATV's
Whereas the National Safety Council and the Consumer Product Safety Commission has found that the operation of ATV's can be extremely hazardous;
Whereas it has been an extreme benefit to the health and well being of motorcycle and bicycle riders to wear a helmet in order to avoid serious injury;
Whereas the types of injury, mainly to the head of the operator, has been similar to those types of injuries sustained in accidents involving ATV's;
Be it therefore resolved...
...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., recommends that the manufacturers of all ATV's provide the approved type and size of helmet for operators of all newly purchased ATV's;
Furthermore that such head protection be incorporated in the initial price of every new ATV.
