 Master Power Take-Off Shield (Revised)

 Whereas on many tractors in current use, the owner or operator has removed the master shield from the power take-off shaft;

Whereas such removal can and often has resulted in serious injuries and/or death;

Whereas these accidents have occurred in the presence of warning decals on the tractor and safety admonitions in the operator's manual;

Be it therefore resolved...

...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., recommend to tractor manufacturers to consider a master power take-off shield design that would be movable to facilitate hookup, but still be fastened to the tractor in such a way as to discourage complete removal from the tractor.
