Personal Protective Devices and Equipment

Whereas technical advances in agriculture have increased the need for personal protective devices and equipment;

Whereas the quality and performance of select personal protective devices and equipment is questionable in terms of performance related to agricultural applications;

Whereas information concerning the need and selection of personal protective devices and equipment for use in agriculture is not readily available to producers;

Be it therefore resolved...

...the Rural Occupational Health Committee recommends that educational materials be developed to be directed at dealers and producers regarding the need and selection of personal protective devices and equipment;

And, be it further resolved...

...suggests that an agricultural agency such as the KSU Agricultural Health and Safety Center, an NIFS task force, the NSC Farm Conference, the Institute of Agricultural Medicine, or ASAE's Agricultural Safety Committee be encouraged to accept and develop the recommended materials.
