Child Passenger Safety

Whereas the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, in an observational study of children traveling in cars found that only seven out of 100 children under the age of ten were properly restrained against possible crash injuries;

Whereas more young children are killed and injured inside vehicles than outside;

Whereas child passenger safety has received minimal attention and is a neglected area calling for positive action;

Whereas information concerning safe protective child restraint devices needs to be more readily available to parents;

Be it therefore resolved...

...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., urge its membership to promote programs on child passenger safety.
