Use of Seatbelts

Whereas traffic accidents are the leading cause of death and injury to rural people;

Whereas at this point in time the use of seatbelts is the best known life saving practice while operating or riding in a motor vehicle;

Be it therefore resolved...

...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., go on record recommending that all members of NIFS encourage their companies, organizations, or institutions to instigate a policy of mandatory seatbelt use by their employees while operating or riding in their company, organization, or institutionally owned or leased vehicles.
