CB Channel 8

 

Whereas farmers in increasing numbers are relying on Citizens' Bank radio communication;

Whereas communicators between farmers and farm workers can expedit farm tasks;

Whereas farm accidents often befall isolated farm workers who may be beyond visual communication;

And, whereas, community safety facilities often monitor CB Channel 9 to receive requests for emergency assistance;

Be it therefore resolved...

...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., urge all organizations represented by its membership promote and recommend that farmers and ranchers utilize CB Channel 8 as a calling and monitoring channel;

And, be it further resolved...

...farmers be informed that constant and consistent use of CB Channel 8 will make emergency use of Channel 9 just one “click” away;

And, be it further resolved...

...the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., encourage all organizations with access to agricultural media to promote, by national news release developed by the National Institute for Farm Safety and other methods, the use of CB Channel 8 by farmers and ranchers, along with supporting explanation of the potential safety benefits of this practice.
