Roll Over Protection (ROP) Frames

Whereas specific standards for the design, fabrication, and testing of ROP (Roll Over Protection) frames for tractors have been developed, approved, and adopted;

Whereas the knowledge, skill, and equipment necessary for compliance with these standards is not commonly available to the local machine shop or fabricator;

Whereas only those ROP frames built to these standards will meet government regulations;

Be it therefore resolved...

...that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., recommends that in the future anyone requesting plans for building of ROP frames be informed of the problems involved in meeting the requirements of the designing, fabricating, and testing standards of such frames;

And, be it further resolved...

...that the use of “homemade”frames be discouraged.
